A funeral service will be held for former Owen Sound councillor Patti Belle Sargent Saturday.
Sargent is said to have passed away peacefully with family by her side at Chapman House Hospice on Monday (Jan 27th). She was 71 years old.
Patti Belle Sargent was the daughter of the well known former MPP and Owen Sound Mayor Eddie Sargent.
Born and raised in Owen Sound, Sargent was a city councillor and president of the Grey Bruce Regional Tourism Board as well as the Billy Bishop Airport Authority. Over the course of her career, she worked in insurance, then owned a travel company and later, a cottage rental business (Adopt A Cottage Rentals) in Sauble Beach.
Sargent enjoyed horseback riding, and her family is asking that memorial donations to G.R.A.C.E. – Georgian Riding Association for Challenged Equestrians.
Friends will be received at the Breckenridge-Ashcroft Funeral Home, 241 9th Street West, Owen Sound, on Friday (Jan 31st) from 2-4 and 7-9p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 1, 2020, at 11a.m. at Georgian Shores United Church, 997 4th Avenue East, Owen Sound.
