President and CEO Dana Howes says the Hanover and District Hospital will use its funding on improving flooring to an infection control standard, replacing heater units and upgrading the roof.
While these are certainly not the most exciting of projects, she says they are very necessary and benefit patients.
President and CEO Michael Barret says the South Bruce Grey Health Centre will spread the funding across all four of its sites with one of the largest projects taking place at the Durham Hospital with the installation of a sprinkler system.
The 4.8 million infrastructure dollars comes as welcomed news to all local hospitals.
As part of the funding agreement the grant dollars must be spent by March 31st on infrastructure projects within the hospitals.
MPP Bill Walker says this funding will help ensure that hospital across Ontario are able to make the needed upgrades and improvements, so patients and families have access to the reliable, quality care they expect and deserve.
