Travis Jones has been named the 2019 ISC Canada East Player of the Year.
Jones batted .333 at the ISC Canada East Qualifier in June as the Toronto Batmen won the Championship.
At the ISC World Tournament in Denmark, Wisconsin, Jones hit .400 as the Batmen tied for 5th.
Playing for the Hill United Lumberjacks at the Canadian Championships, Jones hit .529 and was named to the All-Canadian team.
Plus, at the Native Provincials, Jones had a 3 & 0 pitching record and helped lead the Nawash Sin to a record 6th straight Ontario championship.
“I would like to say miigwetch (thank you) for selecting me as the Canada East player of the year. With the talent in this area and the nominees I am greatly honoured to be selected. I have been truly lucky in 2019 to play with great players, amazing coaches, and management that would do anything for the players they have in front of them.
This year in ISC, the Toronto Batmen family had a great year and I was grateful to be apart of it with the finish we had, proving that we could compete with the best. At the Canadian championship, again I was very lucky to be asked to play with the Hill United Lumberjacks family. We had a great run and hope to prove ourselves again in the future.
