A Shallow Lake woman has won some big bucks playing a lottery scratch ticket.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation says Georgina Springer, 77, recently claimed the $75,000 top prize from Instant Scrabble.
Springer is a married retiree who attended the store to confirm her win. Both Springer and her husband initially thought the amount she had won on the ticket was lower than it turned out.
“I thought I had won $10,000 and my husband thought it was $25,000” says Springer. “We had the clerk contact the OLG Support Centre for us and when the information came in, we found out we had won $75,000.”
Springer plans to travel and prepare for the future with the winnings.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Allan’s Mercantile General Store on Princess Street in Shallow Lake.
