Two Owen Sound men are facing multiple charges after separate incidents Sunday night.
Police say in the first incident, a 42-year-old Owen Sound man was arrested after a home invasion at a west side residence.
Police say, at about 8 Sunday night the man went into his neighbour's house without permission.
Once inside, the man is alleged to have assaulted three female occupants and then reportedly also stole a pet. Police did not say whether the females were adults or children.
Officers say one female was transported to hospital and treated for a broken rib.
The man was arrested a short time later without incident.
He is facing charges of break and enter, robbery and assault. He is being held for a bail hearing today.
Less than two hours later, police say they were called to an east side retail establishment with a shoplifting complaint.
Officers say they were told by staff, a man had loaded up two bags of electronic merchandise and clothing after damaging a locked display cabinet.
They say when staff approached the man as he left the store, he told them “I'm not paying.”
Police searched the area and with the help of a citizen found the suspect in a nearby variety store.
He was arrested, and police say he was found in possession of merchandise that was allegedly stolen.
The 36-year-old owen Sound man is charged with multiple offences. Police say he also had outstanding arrest warrants against him. He was held for a bail hearing today.
