The long-awaited 4 Sideroad Rehabilitation is making headway.
Meaford council has accepted a report from staff on the project and has awarded a tender to Arnill Construction Ltd.
The 2020 budget set aside over $720,000 for the rebuild, however the tender offer with contingency costs comes in at just over $640,000.
According to the staff report, the construction will begin sometime after May 15th 2020 and is set to be done before the end of August.
Earlier in 2019, the project was delayed as the council decided to switch from a tar and chip surface to a hot mix asphalt surface.
The report highlights the need for this rehabilitation stating that if work is not done that more damage could be caused to the road.
The report says the costs of material alone to fix potholes on 4 Sideroad was $13,000 for 2019.
