South Bruce OPP were extremely busy yesterday during those snow squalls and strong winds.
OPP say between 9 a.m. and 11:45 p.m. on December 18th (Wednesday) they investigated 17 motor vehicle crashes, with minor injuries reported at 2 of the scenes.
In addition, police say they also received four calls about vehicles that were stuck on the road creating a traffic hazard.
Police are urging drivers to adjust their driving habits as weather and road conditions change. They say it simply takes longer to get where you're going safely during winter.
They're hoping people will remember the saying, “If you see snow, go slow.”
Police say to check weather and travel conditions before heading out, and don't take chances if the weather is bad.
OPP say it is best to allow yourself extra time for travel or wait until conditions improve. If you are travelling and get caught in bad weather, tune to a local radio station for road closure bulletins.
