The Hanover and District Hospital Foundation has kicked off its Trim the Tree With Hope Campaign.
The fundraiser involves making a donation to the Hanover and District Hospital Foundation to purchase an ornament to be hung on one of the Hospital's two 12 foot Christmas trees.
The trees are adorned with the ornaments purchased through donation by the public and with each ornament comes a tribute card to recognize a loved one, friend, pet or perhaps a hospital staff member.
The ornaments range in price from 25 to 250 dollars and include red, silver and gold ornaments as well as teddy bears and angels.
Foundation Director Angela Wainscott encourages the public to purchase an ornament and pay tribute to a loved one or someone special in their life.
She says the decorated trees are absolutely stunning and bring a lot of Christmas cheer to both staff and patients.
One tree is located in the lobby, the other by the Emergency Room entrance.
Wainscott expects this year's Trim the Tree With Hope campaign to raise 30 thousand dollars for the Hospital Foundation which serves as the fundraising arm of the Hospital.
In keeping with the Christmas spirit, local doctors have pledged to match the public's donation up to 3 thousand dollars.
Those wishing to help Trim the Tree with Hope can contact the Hanover and District Hospital to make a donation and have an ornament hung on one of the massive Christmas trees.
