Nicol Insurance Inc. has expanded into Orangeville with the purchase of Landry Mellow Insurance.
In a press release Tim Nicol, CEO of Nicol Insurance Inc. states that the acquisition is a move towards the company goal of being a community and client-focused industry leader.
In an interview with Nicol, he states that the purchase of Landry Mellow is the first time the company has expanded beyond Grey and Bruce Counties but that it remains a similar atmosphere.
“It's a similar type of people,” Nicol says, “similar needs and wants from the clients in those communities.”
He says the whole process took about a year with a focus being on minimizing the impact on clients and employees.
The press release states that there is no staffing change at this time due to the merger.
Nicol says that the focus now is working through the transition but that further expansion is not out of the question.
“We are an organization that is growing and wants to take advantage of opportunities that may exist out there,” Nicol says.
Nicol Insurance Inc. currently has offices all over Grey and Bruce and has been in operation since 1950.
