Both the Grey Bruce Health Unit and The Hosptial for Sick Children (SickKids) have made statements separating themselves from a well-known website called Motherrisk.org.
Both organizations previously voiced support for the site and state in press releases that it was often utilized as a resource for parents and physicians.
The previous version of the site closed in April of 2019 and was taken over by a third party, according to news releases from SickKids and GBHS.
Up until early December, GBHS says that going to Motherisk would take you to a similar website as the original that promoted CBD oil use on children and during pregnancy but provided no sources.
SickKids issued a cease and desist notice last week and now typing in Motherisk.org redirects you to cbdclinicals.com which promotes similar material.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit is advising health organizations to check their website recommendations.
