Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “.
Always a busy weekend for local sports, but events wise, the busiest spot might be the Plex in Port Elgin.
Saugeen Shores is hoping to land $ 250,000 this weekend as part of the Kraft-Heinz Project Play campaign.
The Kraft-Heinz Project Play campaign could generate huge dollars for the Lamont Sports Park….IF Saugeen Shores wins the voting against 3 other communities.
Voting runs Friday through Sunday. You can vote from home, vote on your phone or go to the Plex where multiple computers are arranged specifically for the voting process.
Simply go to the Plex or to kraftheinzprojectplay.com and vote as many times as possible through the weekend.
On a larger stage, the World Series matchup might be established tonight
The Houston Astros rode a pair of 3 run homers last night to drop the New York Yankees 8-3.
With the victory, Houston leads the American League Championship Series 3 games to 1 with Game 5 tonight , again, at Yankee Stadium
Canadian James Paxton will try and keep New York alive. Justin Verlander will try and nail it down for the Astros
The eventual winner of the ALCS will face Washington for the Word Series which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.
Have a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
