A 37-year-old South Bruce Peninsula man faces numerous weapon and firearm related charges in connection to a standoff with police at a residence near Sauble Beach earlier this week.
Provincial Police say James Walker, 37, was held in custody following a bail court appearance in Owen Sound yesterday.
He is charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, four counts of possession contrary to prohibition order and four counts of breach of probation.
Walker was arrested at a residence on Bruce Road 8, not far from Sauble Beach, Tuesday morning after an hours-long standoff with police that involved numerous OPP resources — including negotiators and tactics and rescue units.
Police have not yet said what prompted the incident.
