Grey County is highlighting nearly a dozen new companies in the area.
You can now try sheep's milk gelato, become a better shot in hockey, have some jewellery appraised, or rent a tiki themed inflatable water slide among many other things thanks to 11 businesses that received a boost from a County program.
Grey County Business Enterprise Manager Courtney Miller says now in its third year, Starter Company Plus is a granting and mentorship program for small, new or existing businesses in Grey County who are looking to either launch or expand.
Miller and most of this year's entrepreneurs attended county council Thursday (July 11) to highlight their achievements and introduce themselves.
Bruce County also offers the Starter Plus program. The grant is up to $5,000 and the county generally takes applications in the spring.
Miller says “They do full business plan development as well as marketing training and financial training. There's quite a few aspects of the training portion of the program.”
