Sauble Beach will have at least two overflow paid parking lots in operation come the Canada Day Holiday Weekend.
If the weather is as nice as it was last year, South Bruce Peninsula town officials expect a run on parking spaces, since Saugeen First Nation has banned cars from their end of the beach this year.
Mayor Janice Jackson says they have deals to lease two lots–one at 7 Southampton Parkway, near the traffic light intersection and the other at 403 Lakeshore Boulevard, which is the Holy Family Church property.
The church parking will be allowed Sunday afternoon through Friday each week.
The two combined lots should be able to handle around 100-plus vehicles.
Jackson says staff has been directed to negotiate for a 3rd overflow lot, at the vacant JK Department Store property which is also at the main traffic light intersection of Sauble Beach.
