A local lottery was announced this morning (April 10) to help raise money for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton.
Executive Director for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation (SMHF) Tracy Murray says tickets are on sale now for the “Saugeen Shores Healthcare Lottery”, and will go until the 98 the Beach Radiothon, December 12, when grand prize winners will be drawn.
“We will be having an early bird draw in July, draws in September, four weekly draws throughout November,” she says.
The top prizes include a $10,000 cash prize, a 7 Day Royal Caribbean Cruise. a Maytag Front Loading Washer and Dryer Set and a $1,000 Canadian Tire Shopping Spree.
Tickets costs $40 a ticket or three for $100 and are available Mowbary's Canadian Tire, Sutton-Huron Shores Realty, Tiny's Motorcycle & ATV Repair, Ralph's, Square Deal Neil's, Southport Golf Course, Martin's Home Hardware and SMHF Office.
Outside of Saugeen Shores they can be found in Paisley – Allen's Home Hardware, Tara – Mills Home Hardware, Allenford – Aiken Bros. Home Hardware, and Patz Pizza in Tiverton.
Murray said if a ticket is pulled it will automatically go back into the draw for another chance to win.
The SMHF hopes the lottery will raise $250,000 for Hospital equipment purchases. One such item on the needs list is the purchase of the patient Wanderguard system which is a safety bracelet feature for patients who are living with Alzheimer and Dementia.
