The Sacred Heart Crusaders are OFSAA champions.
Kyle Durrer scored the gold medal clinching goal in the eighth round of the shootout as the Crusaders edged out Iona C.S.S. Mississauga 3-2 to capture the OFSAA “A-AA” Boys Hockey championship Thursday afternoon at Kincardine.
Joshua Lorenz and Durrer scored during regulation for the Crusaders. Jordan Santos and Tyler Turpin supplied the offence for Iona C.S.S.
Sacred Heart won its second straight thriller on the day after squeaking past Jean Vanier Collingwood in overtime Thursday morning to reach the final.
The Crusaders added OFSAA gold to their mantle of trophies this season, which already included the Bluewater Athletics Association championship and CWOSSA.
