As severe winter weather continues to cause a number of road closures, Bruce Power has issued its staff direction for this morning.
In a release, the company says all Category A staff scheduled to work on the morning of Jan. 31 should report for duty on open roads if they are able to do so.
Category B staff directly supporting critical path activities should report for duty on open roads if they are able to do so.
All other Category B and all Category C staff should prepare for a delayed start, and an update will be provided once all relevant information is available and road conditions have been assessed.
In addition, All Operations rotating shift (i.e., A-E Crew) assigned staff whether duty crew, on a Boxed Day or Supers, whether on training or not, are to respond as Category A if scheduled to be in on Jan. 31, and to report to Bruce A or B as applicable, if able to do so on open roads.
Bruce Power Staff are instructed to regularly monitor Bruce Power global emails, if possible.
The company says for those travelling for Kincardine, it is working with the Municipality to ensure the emergency access route is available.
This information will not be available until approximately 5:30 a.m. At that time, if the emergency access route is available, we will issue another update confirming the bus pick-up time and location and return information for outgoing staff as well.
For those wishing to take the bus from Port Elgin, bus service will run on the regular Monday to Friday schedule, with drop-off and pick-up at both stations.
In addition, staff are advised to bring their own food to site, as provisions may be limited.
All employees are to respect road closures.
