West Grey Police say a vehicle submerged in the South Saugeen River has been located by recovery units.
Police say the SUV was found about one kilometre down stream from where it's believed to have entered the river.
The Hanover Water Rescue Team, OPP dive team and Ayton Firefighters assisted with the search.
Police say the vehicle currently sits 20-feet underwater, and is not visible from the air or river banks.
The vehicle will remain in the water until it is safe to remove.
West Grey Police have identified the deceased man found in the river as 24-year-old Gregory Steven Glenn McTavish of Wingham.
On Saturday, police responded to a report of a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Victoria Street in Ayton around 4:15 p.m.
Just over one hour later, police say an SUV was seen being driven into the South Saugeen River.
Police attended the scene and located the body of a deceased male.
The West Grey Police Criminal Investigations Bureau is seeking to identify all people known to associate with the involved vehicle which is registered to an address in Wingham.
