Shoreline Power Group (SPG) has opened a brand new office in Kincardine at the Sutton Park Mall, wedged in between No Frills and TD Canada Trust.
SPG is a joint venture that includes three companies — AECOM, AECON, and SNC-Lavalin.
The consortium was awarded a $475 million dollar contract for the retubing of Bruce 6 — one of the key contracts for its Major Component Replacement (MCR) project.
Bruce Power President and CEO, Mike Rencheck, says Shoreline Power Group has also signed a Preferred Supplier Agreement under which it could be awarded similar contracts for five further Bruce units, depending how things go on Unit 6.
Rencheck says he is encouraged by the work he has seen from Shoreline Power Group so far.
Project Director for Shoreline Power Group, Frank Gross, says that the joint venture has so far made 20-22 local hires and he says that 50-60 local people may be employed by the company when they are peak operation.
The consortium has already begun to mobilise for the retube, which is scheduled to begin in 2020 for completion in the third quarter of 2022.
