A new hotel is coming to Saugeen Shores.
The owners of the Super 8, Jennifer and Tom Evans, Andy and Leny Kuperus, of EK Hospitality, in partnership with MasterBUILT Hotels, announced the expansion of the Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham yesterday (Thursday).
The new hotel will be located next to the Super 8 and J&S Tackle, across the street from Canadian Tire and Walmart on Highway 21 (5129 Highway 21, in Port Elgin).
Co-Owner of EK Hospitality, Jennifer Evans, says that the cost will be similar to that of the Super 8.
It is expected that shovels will break dirt at the build site in September, with hopes that work will be completed by next summer.
The hotel will provide guests with complimentary ultra high-speed Internet, a hot breakfast, an upscale fitness centre, a swimming pool with waterslide and meeting room facilities. The hotel will also feature a full bar.
The hotel will be fully accessible and features the latest in safety and security in guest rooms and public spaces, including two electric car charging stations.
The 68 guest rooms and suites will feature a compact refrigerator, microwave and in room coffee with select rooms featuring a full kitchen, separate bedroom and living room, ideal for extended stays.
