The final Provincial Gymnastics Qualifier for Level 3-5 athletes will be staged Sunday in Owen Sound.
Dancemakers Dance & Gymnastics will be hosting the one day event that has just under 200 athletes scheduled to compete.
There’s a number of levels to consider when discerning just how significant this event is.
Most obvious, it’s a Provincial Qualifier and the 3rd and final of the season.
In Gymnastics, the top 32 results taken from 2 of the 3 Qualifiers over the course of the year determine who advances to the Provincial Championships at Windsor, so you can appreciate how much is on the line for the performers.
There’s a lot on the line for Dancemakers too.
Eight months of applying and preparing climax this weekend.
Many times, Dancemaker performers and parents have gone on the road to a Qualifier and felt that their home club was every bit as good, maybe even better, than the venue they were visiting.
This weekend gives them a chance to prove it at home.
And finally, being at home has to be special for the athletes who hit the road all season long and now get a chance to compete in familiar surroundings with the familiar faces of relatives and friends watching and cheering.
Sunday is a big day for many reasons, as Dancemakers Dance & Gymnastics hosts the final Level 3-5 Provincial Gymnastics Qualifier.
