Grey County is investigate the possibility of extending Grey Road 40 to link two major highways.
Right now, the road stops at Highway 6 and at Highway 10.
Councillor Bob Pringle brought forward a motion to council to see if staff could looking into the extension.
Pringle says without the connecting link, drivers have to travel through Chatsworth to get to the other highway.
Staff say it is about a 1.7km stretch and has been looked into in the past. The last time in 2004.
At that time, it would cost around $1 million to build the road.
It is expected the road would help alleviate traffic on a busy day.
The extension would allow traffic to use Grey Road 40 to Grey Road 18 onto to Springmount and up the peninsula.
Director of Transportation Services, Pay Hoy, told council they are along way away from doing the road.
A staff report is expected back at a future council meeting.
