Milder weather and warmer temperatures have settled into much of the region and if that’s any indication of what may come, it could stay this way for at least the next week or so.
Etienne Gregoire, Weather Preparedness Meteorologist at Environment Canada, says the current weather trend could very well push on into the first or second week of March.
“It’s looking to continue being warm and somewhat dry, there’s no major storm on the horizon for the next week, week and a half, that we can see at this point,” says Etienne.
And temperature wise, Etienne says it’s still above normal for this time of the year, though it will moderate and fluctuate a little bit.
As for the possibility of more snow in the forecast, Etienne says we shouldn’t rule that out just yet.
“It’s not impossible, I mean this is still early, we’re still in February and to really rule out any kind of measurable snowfall this early in the season would be playing the odds against you, that’s for sure,” says Etienne.
As for the immediate future, it doesn’t look like we’ll see very much, if any, snow fall hit the region.
“There’s a weak low coming across really quickly, it’s very narrow, there may be a band of snow mixed with rain, it may accumulate to some amounts, but it’s mostly to the south of us, toward the Sarnia area,” notes Etienne.
