More outbreaks have been declared at retirement and long term care facilities in the area.
The latest all came Thursday at Seasons Retirement Community in Owen Sound, Rockwood Terrace at Durham and Village Seniors in Hanover.
The Seasons outbreak was respiratory, and it led to the cancellation of the planned Owen Sound Chamber of Commerce “Awake @ 8 ” meeting because of concerns about exposure.
However, Grey Bruce Public Health has now declared the outbreak at Seasons over, as of Friday, February 16th.
The other outbreaks at Rockwood Terrace and Village Seniors are respiratory, but the exact cause has not been pinpointed.
Grey Bruce Health Unit officials say if you are sick with the flu, a cold or anything else, don’t visit hospitals or nursing homes.
