The 2017-18 RIDE program results are in from the OPP in Grey county.
Between November 24th, and January 2nd, they conducted 140 R.I.D.E. checks in the area, resulting in one “Warn” range suspension and five drivers charged in the impaired, over 80 mg, or refusal category.
Although the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign is over for another year, Grey County OPP say police conduct R.I.D.E. programs throughout the year!
The four contributing factors in fatal collisions on our roadways are as a result of lack of seat belt use, distracted driving, aggressive driving and impaired driving.
They say if you choose to drink or use drugs – choose not to drive. It’s that simple.
The public is encourage to contact police if they suspect someone is operating a vehicle while impaired. It’s everyone’s responsibility to keep all road users safe.
