The Leon’s franchises held by the Macdonald Family will be expanding east to Orillia.
Phil Macdonald, the owner of Leon’s in Owen Sound & Collingwood, confirms the family operation has purchased the Leon’s location at Orillia and will take over operations of that store effective January 2nd ( 2018 ).
Regarding the addition, Macdonald indicates the process to purchase the Orillia store has been ongoing for about 18 months with the Brown Family who operated the Orillia Leon’s for a quarter of a century.
Macdonald relates the additional store will enhance Leon’s delivery area and buying power which in turn will create better pricing plus increase inventory and selection.
With locations in 3 Georgian Bay communities, Macdonald understands that each of those communities has a different makeup and demographic. He states that’s the exciting part of what’s ahead for the company and the family owned business that sells furnishings, appliances, mattresses, TV’s and electronics.
The Macdonald Family purchased Leon’s in Collingwood in September of 2010 and then added the Owen Sound location to their holdings in August of 2014 when they purchased the franchise from Bruce Beattie.
