Two more new stores are coming to Heritage Place Shopping Centre in Owen Sound.
Cuddly Buddies will be opening on November 15th.
Heritage Place General Manager Michelle Schleimer says it’s an independent, locally owned store like the chain store Build a Bear.
The concept allows customers to choose a bear or other toy animal, stuff it, and personalize it from colour to clothes, essentially building their own custom made stuffed animal.
Schleimer says it’s a great holiday shopping idea and a fantastic attraction for kids. She notes the store will have space to host birthday parties.
A new restaurant is opening up at the end of the month there as well.
The Just Like Home Caf and Eatery will open on September 25th.
Schleimer says it’s owned by two Meaford area restaurateurs who also already have the Sail Fish and Chip restaurant in Meaford and a food truck.
The idea behind Just Like Home is to offer a wide variety of generously portioned meals of soups and sandwiches as well as coffee and other cafe fare that customers can take home with them.
Schleimer notes it’s an exciting time for Heritage Place as a number of new stores and changes are coming into the mall.
The clothing store Urban Planet and department store Giant Tiger will be opening up this fall in the former Zeller’s location as well.
Other newer stores include the recent switch from HMV to Sunrise Records and The Owen Sound Sweet Shop, which was there for the Christmas season and stayed on.
