There is good news for those in Eastern Grey county looking for a family doctor.
Dr. Thor Ellingsen, will soon be practicing in the area thanks to the combined recruitment efforts of the Town of Meaford, North East Grey Health Clinics Incorporated and Grey Bruce Health Services.
He will join the team at GBHS Meaford Hospital to provide emergency room and in-patient care at the hospital starting this month.
President and CEO, Lance Thurston says they are thrilled that Dr. Ellingsen is putting down roots in Meaford.
He will open a family practice at the Don Bumstead & Family Medical Centre, in Meaford, on July 17th.
New patients are invited to come to the office on the 17th or later, between 9 am and 4:30 pm, to complete an information package, and get on the doctor’s schedule.
After graduating from medical school in his home province of Alberta, Dr. Ellingsen moved to Collingwood for his two years of family medicine residency.
During that time, he completed a number of training rotations within GBHS including internal medicine, pediatrics, and most recently a two-month long elective in Meaford.
Office information about the new doctor in Meaford will be available later this summer.
