A huge fire has destroyed the main building at Chesley Lake camp, but officials are already planning on rebuilding.
Assistant Manager Colleen Seaman says a fire started in a garbage bin Saturday evening and engulfed the building that housed the office, restaurant, tuck shop and meeting rooms.
Seaman says the cause has been ruled accidental, and no damage estimate is given.
For now, temporary buildings are being brought in for an office, tuck shop and food facility.
She says they definitely plan on rebuilding but the exact design isn’t determined just yet.
Seaman says the Sauble Beach fire department was the first to respond and kept the flames from spreading to a nearby, large propane tank.
No one was injured in the fire.
Chesley Lake campground has between 1 and 2000 people on the grounds each day.
