The Hanover and District Hospital has been targeted in an international fraudulent job recruitment scam.
CEO Katrina Wilson says it is aimed at individuals in India who are interested in working in a Canadian Hospital.
She says the Hospital has been receiving calls from the individuals who have been scammed out of their money looking for a job interview with the Hanover and District Hospital.
Wilson says these individuals have been contacted by email or telephone and told about a health care job opportunity at a health care facility with the Hanover and District Hospitals address.
In an attempt to mitigate the situation the Hanover Hospital has posted warnings about the scam on its website.
Its Wilsons hope that potential scam victims will visit the Hospitals website before handing over any money.
Police have been notified and are investigating the matter.
The Hanover Hospital has also alerted the Ontario Hospital Association in order to notify all hospital throughout Ontario.
This is the second time the Hanover and District Hospital has been targeted in an international job recruitment scam.
5 years ago a similar scam occurred that originated in the Philippines.
