The HMV location at Heritage Place Mall will soon reopen as Sunrise Records.
Thursday, the company confirmed 29 former HMV locations that it would be taking over, including the Owen Sound location.
HMV Canada Incorporated went into receivership in January.
It has not been announced when Sunrise will open at the local mall, but the company plans to start opening in former HMV locations next month.
In a news release, President Doug Putman says that Sunrise is committed to hiring HMV employees who want to continue their careers in the Canadian music industry.
There are currently 10 staff at the Heritage Place shopping centre location.
