A well known author and theologian has died at Lion’s Head hospital.
Tom Harpur was 87 and a he had only moved to Walter’s Falls near Owen Sound in August.
However, he also lived in a number of local municipalities including Williamsford, Meaford and Collingwood.
Tom Harpur was an Anglican Minister for 17 years, he ran a radio call-in show and was a TV broadcaster.
In 2004 he wrote a controversial book called “The Pagan Christ” in which he argued Jesus Christ was not a living man.
Harpur’s obituary says he travelled to over 20 countries and met Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama.
His brother is Dr. George Harpur of Tobermory who has been a medical doctor on the Bruce Peninsula for over 40 years.
