Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “.
We’re back to Ontario Hockey League action tonight as the Owen Sound Attack host the North Bay Battalion.
When last checked, the Attack were sitting on a 4 game win streak and had won 8 of their last 10 outings.
Game time tonight is 7 pm at the JD McArthur Arena.
While it won’t draw the same crowd as the hockey game, the Brokerlink Insurance Grey-Bruce Major Curling League Playoff matches at Chesley tonight are of significance as well.
There are 4 games tonight at the Chesley Curling Club.
What we know for sure is that Jeff Thomson has clinched a spot in the final 4 regardless of how his rink fares against Al Hutchinson tonight.
We also know that Craig Milburn and Les Shane have been eliminated from quarterfinal contention.
After that, it’s a 5 team scramble to determine who sits 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th for the second phase of the playoffs which will be conducted next Wednesday at the Tara Curling Club.
Four game win streak for the Attack as they host North Bay at 7 pm. at the Lumley-Bayshore in the OHL.
Playoff seedings to be determined in Major Curling at 8 pm in Chesley
Have a great Wednesday
I’m Fred Wallace
