You have a chance to put a name on the new elementary school in Owen Sound.
The just established Owen Sound Naming Committee is asking for your help in finding a replacement name for OSCVI, where students from Sydenham Community School and Bayview Public School students will go to school next September.
The Naming Committee, which includes student, staff and community representatives from both schools, is seeking submissions until November 30th.
There are several options for submitting a name.
Online at the SurveyMonkey link, which will be posted to the websites of Sydenham Community School, Bayview Public School and Bluewater District School Board:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/schoolnaming.
Community suggestion boxes at the Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library, YMCA/Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre reception area, Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound, Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre, Sydenham and Bayview main school offices
On Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag, #nameourschoolos or visit www.facebook.com/Name-Our-School-Owen-Sound-570033343182302
Each submission should include a suggested school name, along with supporting rationale for that name choice.
After Nov. 30th, the Owen Sound Naming Committee will create a short list of school names from the submitted suggestions.
Further public input will then be sought until January of next year.
