Yet another Electric Vehicle charging station is open in Grey Bruce.
Bruce Power, Plug’n Drive, Baywest Nissan and the Town of Saugeen Shores officially opened one in Southampton Friday.
Saugeen Shores Mayor Mike Smith says the EV charging station is a perfect addition to the downtown core, which experiences an influx of visitors each summer.
Bruce Power and Plug’n Drive are partnering with businesses, municipalities and environmental groups in the area to increase the EV charging station infrastructure in rural Ontario.
President and CEO Mike Rencheck says adding more public charging stations will translate into more electric vehicles on area roads.
He says as they build consumer confidence in the viability of electric vehicles, they will carbon emissions from the transportation sector.
