More food and better entertainment.
The new owner/operator of Owen Sound Ribfest, BWG Events Group, says as many as 30,000 people will attend this year’s event.
President and CEO of the company, Ricky Brooks, says five of North America’s best rib teams — known as “pitmasters” — will be at Ribfest, including Sticky Fingers Barbeque.
Camp 31, Billy Bones, Crabby’s Barbeque Shack and Texas Rangers will return, too.
Ribfest 2016 will also boast a new venue.
Brooks says BWG Events Group toured Kelso Beach Park, but decided to relocate to the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre because of its convenience.
He says it was also the location preferred by City Council.
There will be musical performances by Marshall Dane of St. Catharines, tribute bands Elevation U2 and Johnny Cash by Rick Aulier, plus a variety of local talent.
Ribfest is open from 11 AM until 6 PM on Sunday. Admission is $2.
