I made an identification error this Spring as it pertains to the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group and Brian Seaman.
I stated Brian Seaman was the President of Minor Hockey.
That was inaccurate. Brian Seaman is not the President. He’s the Past President……Brian Seaman was the one who pointed it out.
In fairness, you can see how easily I could make that mistake.
Brian Seaman has been on the Minor Hockey executive for close to 30 years, almost all of them as the President.
And truthfully, it’s time for him to relinquish that role.
That’s not my opinion, it’s Brian Seaman’s.
Now understand, Brian Seaman is not going anywhere anytime soon; he wants to continue to oversee the Initiation and Tyke programs, likely until his great-great grandchildren have grandchildren of their own.
And for a new President of Minor Hockey or the next President of Minor Hockey, what could be better in terms of succession ?
Any time you feel the need for guidance, you simply go to the rink and ask Brian Seaman, the guy who’s been connected to the Program for a remarkably long time.
