The hunt for gold buried on the beach and the battle to keep one’s trusty boat afloat is on in Southampton this weekend.
The 6th Annual Marine Heritage Festival begins Friday night and continues until Sunday.
Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre Business Manager Janice Mewhinney says Friday night’s activities take place from 5 PM to 9 PM at the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre with music, a barbecue, bar and boat building.
There will be a pancake breakfast from 8 AM to 10:30 AM Saturday morning.
Registration for the Boat race begins at 9 AM Saturday, the race begins at 11 AM.
There is also a kid’s costumed pirate gold hunt in Pioneer Park from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.
