Hi this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
The auto racing season at Sauble Speedway is heading to their first BIG weekend of the season.
Over the course of the Canada Day Weekend, Sauble will feature the Can Am Midgets, the Vintage Modifieds, a couple of OSCAAR divisions and the Open Wheel Modified Invitational.
Keep in mind, the Friday and Saturday cards are normal 7 pm starts while Sunday afternoon is a 2:30 start.
The 3 days of racing interestingly come on the just the third program of the year.
Amid much discussion and debate, Sauble Speedway elected to go for a ” soft ” opening or a delayed start to the season just 9 days ago.
Promoter Jason Thom, readily admitted the May 2-4 weekend always offers the potential of a large influx of visitors.
However, that opportunity also comes with a 50-50 chance of poor weather.
So, after analyzing and assessing the possibilities, then crunching some numbers, Sauble Speedway went to the later start and will instead jam more action into 14 race dates climaxing on the Labour Day Weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
