In my e-mail the other day was a survey from the Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group asking for comments and input pertaining to the existing House League program and the very real possibility of shifting to a ” Local League ” format.
Understand fully, the consideration of this alteration is not somebody’s brainwave, but rather the stark reality of operating a Minor Hockey program in the face of declining participation numbers over the past 5 years.
I was in the House League program for the past two years and loved it.
In my view, there is NOTHING wrong with what transpires…other than economics and demographics have combined to create decreased registration numbers.
But my perspective isn’t the only view required, and the desire from Minor Hockey is to have everyone associated with House League Hockey submit their responses and comments.
House League ? Or Local League ?
Owen Sound Minor Hockey is asking everyone connected to the House League programs to take 2 minutes or more and fill out the survey by June 19th.
After the 19th, the data will be compiled and a report based on the feedback from the survey will be presented at the next monthly meeting for Minor Hockey on June 28th.
