Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by your local Auto Logic…the Logical Choice.
The Owen Sound Coldwell Banker NorthStars are back on home floor tonight for their second home game of the Junior B Lacrosse season.
In a bit of a quirk in the schedule, the visitors tonight are the same visitors from two weeks ago; the Orangeville Northmen.
The game tonight is interesting on a couple of levels.
First of all, Orangeville will host the Canadian Junior B Lacrosse Championship Tournament this Summer.
The Northmen have put together excellent teams for years and there’s no doubt this year’s Founders Cup host team will be a good one, but notably, their only loss on the season was two weeks ago, a narrow 7-6 loss in Owen Sound.
Wanna bet Orangeville will be primed tonight….
For the NorthStars they face two challenges.
1) obviously they’ll be facing a motivated Orangeville team
and 2) putting Saturday’s loss at Point Edward behind them.
In Junior B Lacrosse, every point is vital, so the loss to the Pacers represents a pair that can never be recovered, and also means Owen Sound needs to be solid tonight to try and pry another unexpected pair of points away from Founders Cup bound Orangeville
I’m Fred Wallace
