Very soon the Kincardine Community Medical Clinic will have a new name.
Kincardine Council has approved calling it the Hawthorne Community Clinic in honour of recently retired President and CEO of Bruce Power, Duncan Hawthorne.
Mayor, Anne Eadie, made the name-change announcement at a retirement dinner for Hawthorne on April 20th.
Council, however, approved the re-brand at a meeting on Wednesday and directed staff to proceed with the new signage and make plans for the dedication of the building.
The clinic is located next to the Kincardine Hospital.
Hawthorne’s tenure at Bruce Power ended on April 29th and he has since re-located to the United Kingdom to help develop a nuclear facility.
