Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by your local Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
The Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame Induction Night is tonight at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
For 2016 there will be 10 inductees including the 1977 King Farms Fastball team who once won a provincial championship while the snow was flying on a cold October weekend in Owen Sound.
Alphabetically, the 5 athletes to be inducted are Jeff MacDougald, Don MacLeod, Marilyn McComb, Jim McCrea and Curtis Sanford who represent a number of sporting pursuits, but interestingly, two are hockey goalkeepers.
Also among the inductees this year are longtime Owen Sound Minor Hockey Group President Brian Seaman as a builder and Special Merit inductees include Jack Aiken, John Garvie and Peter Raynsford.
Time goes by doesn’t it ?
The Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame has a 35 year history and tonight, performers and moments from the past 3 decades and beyond in local athletics will be front and center.
I’m Fred Wallace
