Be that as it may, when it comes to generating great ideas for others to put into place, I’m a genius; a consultant in waiting.
To that end, if I was with the Bluewater Athletic Association, or with the surviving high schools in Owen Sound, or with the city itself, or with the Owen Sound Attack, I’d be very acceptable to creating a partnership in which the CWOSSA Hockey Championship Tournaments were staged in Owen Sound on a very frequent basis.
For the BAA, hosting CWOSSA would mean additional organizational time, no question, but would it not reduce expenses if CWOSSA was here and not elsewhere ?
For St Mary’s and the pending new look West Hill Secondary, wouldn’t that be a gem in the school athletic calendar knowing that one or both could compete at CWOSSA at home ?
For the city of Owen Sound, what does 15 tournament games times two genders equate to in terms of ice rentals and spin off revenue for city businesses.
And for the Attack, if there was a Wednesday night OHL game right in the heart of the CWOSSA tournament with the potential of having 16 high school teams attend, wouldn’t that turn a midweek game potentially into a Saturday night crowd ?
Again, there’s likely a thousand unseen flaws in my concept, but from the outside, where I am an expert in my own mind, I see HUGE benefits for various groups if the CWOSSA Hockey Tournaments are staged in Owen Sound on a regular basis.
