Hi this is Fred Wallace with Off the Wire, brought to you by your local Auto Logic….the Logical Choice.
April 9th is shaping up to be a very active day.
The Canadian Broomball Championships in Owen Sound conclude that day.
The Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection will be staged that day
And technically, the Junior B Lacrosse season commences for the Owen Sound Coldwell Banker NorthStars.
Last week, the NorthStars released their schedule for the season ahead and the first item on the docket was the annual pre-season tournament in Elora on April 9th.
The regular season for the Coldwell Banker Stars will be 6 days later when they visit the Six Nations Rebels.
Owen Sound will have a second game on the road April 23rd at Welland before they play their home opener on April 28th against the Orangeville Northmen.
At the moment, the Junior NorthStars are enthused about their goaltending which is expected to include the returns of Dylan O’Rourke and Garrett Reed.
With the netminding scenario solidified and a large core of returning players, the Coldwell Banker NorthStars hope that they have a competitive squad, one that will snap a playoff drought dating back 5 seasons to 2010.
I’m Fred Wallace
