Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by your local Auto Logic….the Logical Choice.
The big storm this week in sports was Jose Bautista’s curiously timed contract stipulation for the Toronto Blue Jays.
But close behind was the actual weather that euchred a lot of activities.
But here goes;
Congratulations to the Sacred Heart Crusaders who captured the CWOSSA Boys Hockey Championship winning twice yesterday; 3-2 in overtime over Delhi and then 5-2 over Paris in the Championship
The Crusaders qualify for OFSAA next month in Ottawa.
The CWOSSA Girls Hockey Championship ? They’ll have to try again.
The OSCVI is going to try again today with the CWOSSA ” A ” Boys Basketball playdowns. The Finals in both Senior and Junior are set for late afternoon.
The St Mary’s Senior and Junior Mustangs head to Cambridge for the CWOSSA ” AA ” Boys Basketball playdown
Meanwhile, a group of Lady Mustangs will be at Saugeen District for the CWOSSA ” AA ” Girls Volleyball playdown
It’s also the final day for the OFSAA Nordic Skiing Championship at Highlands Nordic.
In hockey, the Attack look to clinch a playoff berth tonight at Mississauga.
The Western Junior C Semifinals resume tonight at Walkerton and Kincardine.
And the WOAA Senior North Championship series between the 81’s and Winterhawks begins tonight at Palmerston with Game 2 tomorrow night back at the Plex in Port Elgin.
All of this and more ahead…if the weather cooperates.
I’m Fred Wallace
