Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by Auto Logic- the Logical Choice.
Scotiabank is presenting ” Hockey Night in Owen Sound ” on Saturday evening at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre.
The NHL Alumni Benefit Tour which features legends from Stanley Cup winning teams, players who played in Original 6 cities plus former NHLers from our region will perform with proceeds going to Special Olympics Ontario and the Law Enforcement Torch Run.
Among those in attendance will be Mike Krushelnyski who clarified a previously mistake in hockey history.
On August 9th, 1988, the Los Angeles Kings acquired Wayne Gretzky, Marty McSorley and Krushelnyski from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Jimmy Carson, Martin Gelinas, a hat trick of first round picks…..and $ 15 million in cash.
Speaking to Krushelnyski this week, he adamantly related that the deal was actually 3 deals.
Gretzky for Carson and the first round picks.
McSorley for Gelinas.
AND………….Mike Krushelnyski for $ 15 million dollars.
So now you know, thanks to Mike Krushelnyski.
The NHL Alumni Benefit Game Saturday will see the doors open at 5 pm followed by the game at 6.
I’m Fred Wallace
