Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
There’s a memorial service tomorrow afternoon in Owen Sound for Ted Kean, a one-time Manager of the Junior B Greys and a notable sportsmen in many circles.
As you can imagine, there’s no shortage of Ted Kean stories and certainly no shortage of people who could relate those gems.
Understandably, there is an overriding fear among those who have the great Ted Kean stories that they may not be able deliver the details fully and properly in a public form.
That’s natural. And it’s a testament to Ted Kean’s subtle impact on the people who knew him best.
If asked to speak for a moment about Ted, I’d simply say ” thank you ” for one of the all-time great surprises that he fully orchestrated on my behalf almost 2 years ago.
And to that end, I’m certain Ted would want me to issue a quick reminder today that the nomination deadline for the 2016 Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame is rapidly approaching and nomination forms should be returned to City Hall by the end of this month.
The Owen Sound Sports Hall of Fame at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre is a terrific venue that ensures our best performers in sports and many of our best people are forever remembered.
Thanks Ted.
I’m Fred Wallace
