It’s a first for Hanover’s Fire Department.
They have produced a calendar and they are now available for purchase.
Proceeds from the $20 calendars will support the three local elementary school swim programs.
Firefighter, Neil Simpson, says rather than use the calendar proceeds to purchase equipment — the department decided it should do something for the kids.
He tells Bayshore Broadcasting News ensuing every family can afford to enrol their child in swimming lessons was the perfect fit.
After all, Simpson says the Hanover firefighters constantly train for water rescues — he says what could be better than ensuring all children can swim?
Simpson says the calendars were a labour of love that was a lot of fun.
The calendar showcases both firefighters and the fire department’s equipment.
Simpson says the calendars are a great stocking stuffer — and he encourages the public to support a worthy cause by purchasing a copy.
2,500 calendars have been printed.
