Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire ” brought to you by Auto Logic, the Logical Choice.
If it’s Wednesday, the Owen Sound Attack must have an Ontario Hockey League home game.
With the treacherous weather conditions here, it’s VERY important that OHL clubs get their trips into Owen Sound before the wicked snow flies….we’ll let Owen Sound start their roadies 3 weeks from now and let them fend for themselves out on the provincial highways…..
But I digress.
Tonight, the Erie Otters come to town in a Midwest Division matchup.
As repetitive as my ragging of the schedule maker may be, this too is seemingly a given in the OHL…the Midwest Division is a snake pit with very few breaks.
Owen Sound plays half their season against divisional foes plus Barrie…34 of 68 games against teams that generally aren’t considered weak sisters.
To this point, exceptionally early in the new season, Owen Sound is at .500; 4 wins against the pack ( Kitchener, Guelph twice, and London ) and 4 losses against the pack ( Guelph, Barrie, Kitchener (OT) and London )
Interestingly, 3 of the 4 wins have been at home and all 4 losses have occurred on the road.
All of which makes tonight’s matchup with an Erie, the first of 6 on the year, a key game for late October.
Game time tonight in Owen Sound is 7 pm at the JD McArthur Arena
I’m Fred Wallace
